About Amber
Ministry Role: As the Assimilation Director, I help new guests and attendees feel welcome, connected, and integrated into the life of the church! I oversee systems and teams that guide people from first-time visits to active involvement, including small groups, connect groups, classes, serving opportunities, and membership. My hope is to create clear, intentional pathways so every person can grow in their knowledge of God's word, faith, and relationships!
Family: I have been married since 2014 to my wonderful husband, Colton Chapmond! We have 4 children: Esame, Jovie, Leo, and one on the way!
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?: Steak & veggies plus a half/half tea!
What's a Bible verse that has really impacted your life?: Romans 12:2 has been my favorite verse since becoming saved! It is a verse God has brought back to my attention in many different seasons. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” I am reminded to continually renew my mind by being in His Word and in prayer!
How do you like to spend your free time?: I love spending time with my family! We like to be outdoors and make memories. I also really enjoy cooking and baking, so when I find extra time, you can find me in the kitchen!
What's something most people don't know about you?: I showed pigs in high school and then raised pigs on our farm for our family. Another fun fact is that I have been attending Legacy Church since 2013.
If you could have dinner with any Bible character (besides Jesus), who would it be and why?: This is very difficult for me to answer because I feel like there are different seasons of my life, in which I might choose differently for that season. However, I would have to pick a New Testament writer, Paul! I would just want to learn as much as I could from him, including what it means to be a committed, steadfast, confident, loving believer who speaks the Gospel in today's culture.
Coffee or tea, and how do you take it?: Coffee 100%. I love the taste, smell, and energy coffee gives! I can drink it all year long and look forward to trying new coffee places when traveling. I also enjoy hot tea during the winter months!
What's one thing you hope people experience when they visit our church?: The presence of the Holy Spirit and the loving kindness from the people of God in His church! My hope is that all people are seen as God sees them, that they feel that, and that they are transformed.
